AA LABELS NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2016
Dear customer,
We are pleased to announce that our latest label conversion machine from ABG has finished being commissioned and is now increasingly contributing to the production of plain labels.
Newsletter June 2016 The ABG Converter 530 is the very latest technology available from ABG's new Series 3 of converting machines and has many advantages for quality label manufacture.
The new machine features servo-driven rotary die-cutting and is also twin-lane, providing double the production output. The label converter is fitted with a turret rewind, enabling the removal of a 1mm skeleton from around the edges of sheet labels.
The addition of this latest machine provides another step in our pursuit of industry leading standards in terms of product quality and service. Newletter June 2016

DRY EDGE SHEETS - Optimised for high speed printing
Newletter June 2016
AA Labels new "Dry Edge" trimmed label sheets.
The problems caused by the industry term "wet edge" on sheets of labels when printing are notoriously difficult to rectify. Because the "wet edge" refers to the label adhesive leaching out on the edges of label sheets, inevitably caused by pressure (whether the material coil has been wound too tightly following manufacture, or during material conversion to sheets of labels, or the sheets being stacked too high) and/or temperature, the outcome when trying to print the labels, is that the glue becomes transferred to the working parts of the printer and causes problems.
To remedy this we have introduced our new "Dry Edge Sheets" in all materials on A4 sheets, as standard. Although relatively new to the UK, edge trimming of sheets has been a standard for label manufacture in Europe for some while now and significantly improves the print performance and on full sheets of A4 assists the label peel from the release liner.
CUSTOMER CARE
The latest addition to our team is Reece Hill who brings a wealth of experience from the print industry, having qualified as a print finisher, before training as a printer.

Reece Hill
Reece has been part of the customer care team since April this year, assisting our customers on the choice of label materials and adhesives for their applications and editing artwork. Reece has primarily joined the team in a business development role to assist and support our wholesale customers with their label requirements.
As a keen amateur footballer in former years, Reece played in the UCL with a local side, but now confines his involvement with football to spectating and watching Arsenal, time permitting.
