How to Print Your Own Parcel Labels
1. Go to the shortcut of your word processor and open it. Now click “File>>New” and you should be able to locate a pop-up window that asks what type of document you are trying to create. Have a look around for a file that reads “Parcel labels” or “Mailing labels.” Click this and choose the template size that corresponds with the parcel labels you are planning to use. You can find this information on the labels package.
2. Determine the name and the version number of the word processing program you are using. This can be found by opening the program, clicking on “Help>>About”
3. If you are using Microsoft Word or Open Office, you can use the templates available at AA Labels.
To look for the correct template for your labels on AA Labels, type the product number in the search box at the top right or go to the product page and click the Microsoft Word icon next to “Word Template” in the product specification. Input the location where you want to save this file and click “ok”.
4. If you’re not using Microsoft Word, use a search engine to find the label templates you need. Type “free parcel labels” and the name of your word processor into the search box.
5. Download the parcel labels template that fulfils your requirements.
6. Open it with your word processor. Click “File>>Open” (or look for similar commands) and go to the location where you saved the parcel labels template.
7. You will get options to edit the template. Add text and/or images to customise it according to your needs.
8. Put the blank parcel labels into the printer’s paper feed.
a. Turn your printer on and wait for it to stop moving. Prepare your parcel labels. Fan through the stack of labels to make sure the pages aren’t stuck together and then line them up like a deck of cards facing up.
b. Set the correct paper thickness. Most printers have different settings for paper thickness. Refer to your printer’s manual to see which settings you should use.
c. Adjust the moveable paper guide on the feed tray. You may have to squeeze the guide to move it. Slide it to a position that will accommodate your parcel labels.
d. Place your parcel labels in the feed tray. Look for arrows or text indicating the top of the labels sheet. Set a stack of parcel labels between the paper guides so the top loads in first. The front of the labels sheet should be facing you. Adjust the paper guide as necessary.
e. Choose your printer settings. Before you print, you should have the option to enter page setup or printer properties. Ensure that your printer is ready to print on labels. Some drivers have special presets for printing on parcel labels.
9. Click “Print.” Your software might ask you about your blank parcel labels. Input the product information to get a properly lined up label. Your parcel labels should now print on your inkjet or laser printer.
Tips & Tricks
Version numbers of your word processor are important. Templates made for newer versions will not normally work with older releases. Double-check the compatibility before downloading a free parcel labels template.
